Wall Picture Gift-Giving Strategies:
What Are Your Options?
Finding gifts for the art lover or home décor enthusiast in your life can often be difficult.
On the one hand, you know they are a great fan of wall art gifts, but, on the other hand, you can never be 100% sure that the recipient will like the gift you picked for them and hang it in their home.
If you don’t know what to buy yet, the first thing you need to decide on is the general direction. There are 2 main options: buying a traditional ready-made piece of art (such as an original painting, art print, or framed photograph) or, alternatively, going with custom artwork.
If you choose the first option and want to have a great gift-giving experience, you’ll need to know at least a few details about the recipient’s personal taste, specific interests, favorite artists, or preferred genres.
If you prefer the second option, you will need to have a really good photo (or several of them) that you’ll be able to transform into personalized artwork in the form of a cool canvas print, a handmade painting, a stunning collage print, or some other creative option.
Once you’ve identified a clear path toward the particular type of art gift you want to purchase, the next major decision you’ll need to make is how to actually give it.
There are 3 different ways to get it done. Let’s explore them.
1 Giving the Gift in Person
If you plan to give a wall art gift in person, you’ll first need to buy it either locally or by ordering it online and specifying your home as the delivery address.
If you buy the art piece online and the website you order from offers gift-wrapping services, make sure to choose this option so that you will not have to wrap the item by yourself when it arrives.
Obviously, handing out a gift to someone in person is a great way to make a huge impact and create a priceless memory.
The entire gift-receiving process is an exciting part of celebrating something, and this gesture is sure to put a big smile on the giftee’s face and leave a lasting impression that they will not easily forget.
2 Sending The Gift
Sometimes, you can’t or don’t want to give the gift in person. Perhaps the recipient lives far away from you and the logistics of being there in person are too difficult or too much of a hassle, or perhaps you need to send gifts to a lot of people, or for any number of other reasons.
Regardless, when you order wall art as a gift online, there are 2 important issues you’ll need to factor in before finalizing you purchase.
First, make sure you totally understand what the expected processing time for your order is. This is the time it takes to prepare your order, frame it (if needed), and get it ready to ship.
In some cases (particularly for custom wall art orders), the processing time can be quite long, so make sure it meets your deadline requirements.
Second, make sure to choose the appropriate shipping method so that your gift will arrive on time. Basic shipping is often free, but it can take a long time to arrive.
If you need the gift to be delivered quickly by a certain date, consider using express shipping methods, which require extra payment.
3 Sending a Gift Card
The last option is to send a physical or digital gift card that can be used on the art shopping website of your choice.
That way, your recipient will be able to choose their desired artwork by themselves, and you can avoid the potentially unpleasant situation in which you choose a gift that they do not like.
In addition, when you choose to send an e-gift card, it is delivered digitally (in some cases, almost instantly), straight to the recipient’s email or mobile phone, which means it can be a great last-minute gift option when there is no time left for physical delivery.
